When we purchased the Neater Feeder, by Neater Pets, I was apprehensive that it would help us keep our cats feeding mess in one place. Our purpose in purchasing the Neater Feeder is to prevent both a mess on the floor of both dry cat food and water. After putting the Neater Feeder to the test in a household of three cats over six months we feel comfortable in recommending this to our Atlantic Pet Sitting family.
Before the Neater Feeder, our cats would chew on pieces of dry food and spit half of it on the floor. This caused us to clean up a mess every few hours. As you know, this gets old very quick. Enter the Neater Feeder.
We purchased the small variety of the Neater Feeder for $23 online. First impressions, we are very impressed with the quality of the feeder. The plastic around the bowls seems very durable, and we, of course, love the stainless steel in the bowls. Over the past 6 months, we have not seen any deterioration in the product.
How The Neater Feeder Works
The Neater Feeder is a very simple concept. Surrounding the stainless steel bowls is a collection tray. It catches the dry food as your pet spills or spits it out. When you refill the bowl, just pour the spilled food back in the bowl.
We really enjoyed the cutouts in the front of the collection tray. This allows any water which is spilled to go through to the bottom of the tray, and not on the floor. When you take the top off the base, it’s very easy to clean the second layer.
The Neater Feeder, by Neater Pets, also keeps the bowl slightly higher which we believe makes it easier for our cats to eat. It gets the bowls slightly higher up towards them so they don’t need to lean over as much.
Neater Feeder Options
The Neater Feeder comes in a variety of options for different pet needs. We are interested in testing out the larger variety for our large dog, Coleman.
We understand many of our pet sitting clients have dogs who enjoy a good slobber after drinking their water. We feel the Neater Feeder would be a great option in keeping this slippery water off your floors.
If you have a tried out the Neater Feeder please let us know your experience in your pet household.
